When FOX has a single-header some television markets get the early game (11am Mountain) and some get the late game (2pm Mountain). We are normally scheduled to get the late game. This is based on our geographic location and time zone. However, we are required by the FOX Network to air the pre-game show at 10am. That means you see the pre-game show live, but the game we are assigned does not air until 2pm.

The NFL and the FOX Network assign game telecasts based on the NFL market area. We are designated as a Seattle market. This is a decision by the NFL and the FOX Network, not us. During the course of the football season we are allowed to make only two changes to our regularly scheduled team assignments. Aside from those two games, we must air the game assigned to us by the NFL and the FOX Network. We usually try to wait until later in the season to use those two changes. This way, we can pick a more relevant game based on the standings as the season develops.

The pre-game show will promote all the games that will be aired in all the television markets. This can be confusing sometimes due to all the different games going on. Our market usually gets the late game unless we have a double-header game day. Some fans think that every Sunday is a double-header and don’t understand why we don’t air both games. The NFL and the FOX Network decide if any given Sunday is a single or double-header, not us.
